Container Transport
Shipping containers collected, transported and placed exactly where you need them — no second crane, no forklift on site.
Container Transport
Operated crane-trucks that carry the load and lift it themselves — transport and lifting anywhere on the UK mainland. One vehicle, one driver / operator, load on at one end and off at the other.
From a single cabin set down on a driveway to a full site relocation. Our driver / operators plan the lift, carry the load and set it down where it needs to go.
Shipping containers collected, transported and placed exactly where you need them — no second crane, no forklift on site.
Container Transport
Site cabins, welfare units and modular buildings moved, relocated and set down on prepared bases across the UK.
Portable Cabin Transport
Structural steel, beams and columns, glazing and material stillages, and precast concrete units — delivered and lifted straight into position on site.
Steel, Stillages & Precast
Access platforms, generators, packaged plant and site equipment on flatbeds, low loaders and extendable trailers.
Plant & Machinery
Up to 19.6 metres of hydraulic outreach, so the load can be set down well away from where the lorry has to stand.
Long-Reach Hiab
Wide, long and oversized loads planned, notified and escorted — route surveys and permits handled.
Abnormal LoadsYou do not need to know what it weighs or how far the crane has to reach. Describe the thing and where it has to end up, and picking the vehicle is our job. The chart below is here for anyone who does want the numbers.
| Vehicle | Lifts | Carries | Maximum reach |
|---|---|---|---|
| 858 Rigid HIAB | Over 8 tonnes | Up to 5.5 tonnes | 19.6 m |
| 658 Rigid HIAB | Over 8 tonnes | Up to 8 tonnes | 16 m |
| 558 Rigid HIAB | Over 6 tonnes | Up to 10 tonnes | 14 m |
| Wagon & Drag HIAB | Over 8 tonnes | Up to 14 tonnes | 16 m |
| Artic HIAB | Over 6 tonnes | Up to 14 tonnes | 16 m |
What a crane will lift depends on how far out it is working, so capacity falls as the boom reaches further. Tell us what needs lifting and where it has to go and we will confirm the vehicle. The manufacturer data sheets are linked in full on the capacity page.
A decade of dated project pages, from Premier League stadiums to hospital sites and city-centre towers.
Two things a hiab supplier is either serious about or is not.
Our dedicated health and safety personnel and appointed persons are on hand to give guidance on all aspects of our operations, and whenever it is required we will submit fully detailed RAMS — risk assessments and method statements — together with lift plans. Most of our drivers and crane operators are ALLMI trained.
We invest in new wagons continually rather than running lorries into the ground, and the 32-tonne and 44-tonne trucks we operate are Euro VI. Euro VI is the standard every UK clean air zone and low emission zone sets for heavy goods vehicles. The fleet is our own, not hired in.
A hiab is a lorry with a hydraulic crane mounted behind the cab or at the rear. It carries the load and lifts it off itself, so one vehicle and one driver / operator do the work of a lorry plus a separate crane. "Hiab" is a manufacturer name that has become the everyday word for a lorry loader.
Our 858 rigid lifts over 8 tonnes, carries up to 5.5 tonnes and offers a maximum reach of 19.6m. The 658 rigid lifts over 8 tonnes and carries up to 8 tonnes to 16m; the 558 rigid lifts over 6 tonnes and carries up to 10 tonnes to 14m; the wagon and drag lifts over 8 tonnes and carries up to 14 tonnes to 16m; the artic lifts over 6 tonnes and carries up to 14 tonnes to 16m. Capacity falls as the crane reaches further out, so tell us the weight and the distance and we will confirm which vehicle suits.
Yes. Every hiab goes out with a trained driver / operator. We do not offer self-drive.
Mainland UK — England, Scotland and Wales. We are based in Manchester and run nationwide daily.
Email us the load and the collection and delivery postcodes. That is usually enough for us to price it, and we will come back to you if we need anything else.
Tell us what needs lifting and where it has to go. We will come back with a price and a vehicle that fits.
