What this company does
We are the ones who put it where it goes
Nortons Hiab Services delivers, lifts and installs the units. Our lorries carry their own cranes, so a cabin arrives and is set down on its bearers by the same vehicle — no forklift, no separate crane, no second visit.
On arrival the team can carry out the full set-up: stacking one unit on another, linking runs together, and fitting staircases, ramps and skirting.
We move units we sold, units you already own and units from anywhere else. If it needs lifting off a lorry, that is our side of the business — see container and cabin transport.

We buy used and new portable cabins and shipping containers — single units or a whole compound — depending on condition and location.
We collect it too
If we buy it, we come and get it. Our own vehicle lifts it off its bearers and takes it away, so you are not arranging haulage separately.

What sort of units do you sell?

Can you refurbish our own units?
Yes. We carry out full refurbishment and reconfiguration in our own workshops, including joinery, plumbing and electrical work, to whatever specification you need.
Do you deliver and set up?
That is the part this company does. Our hiabs deliver the unit and lift it into position, and our team handles the full set-up: stacking, linking, staircases, ramps and skirting.
Do you have used site cabins for sale?
Yes, and the stock list lives on our cabins site rather than here, because it changes constantly and a page of units that sold last month helps nobody. Used site cabins, site offices, canteens, drying rooms and welfare units all come through the yard. If you tell us the size and the sort of unit you are after we can tell you what is in stock or coming in.
Can I buy a second hand site office rather than a new one?
Usually the better buy, yes. A refurbished second hand site office costs a fraction of a new one and for most site accommodation the difference on site is cosmetic. What is worth checking on any used unit is the floor, the door frames and the state of the steelwork underneath - those are the things that are expensive to put right and easy not to look at.
Do you deliver the cabins you sell?
We do, and it is the reason people come to us rather than to a dealer with no lorries. The same vehicle that carries the unit lifts it into position with its own crane, so there is no crane to book separately and no forklift needed at your end. Delivery, siting and later relocation are all the same job for us.
Will you buy a portable cabin from me?
Often, yes. If you have a unit standing idle - a site office, a canteen, a welfare unit or an anti-vandal - send us the sizes, a couple of photographs and a postcode. We will tell you whether it is something we want and we collect it ourselves, which saves you arranging haulage for something you are trying to get rid of.
