July 2018. A galvanised beam on the slings inside the airport boundary, going onto the frame of a new multi-storey. Airside and landside work is booked to a window and the window is the whole job.

Steelwork into a new car park at Manchester Airport, the Manchester City matchday store craned into the city centre, RNLI lifeguard stations set out on the coast, and a welfare compound at Caernarfon begun in the week before Christmas.

A beam onto the frame
The same job from the other end, with the beam coming in over the columns and a banksman on the deck. Long steel is all about what the load does when it stops moving.
The matchday store, Manchester
The Manchester City official matchday store lowered onto its position behind barriers in the city centre, with a banksman on the corner watching the load in.
Loaded and out on a bright morning
The same unit on the flat bed against a clear sky, the crane folded and the vehicle ready to move off.
Lifting between the old and the new
The unit going up between a glass frontage and Victorian stone, with the boom working over the street and the road closed to do it.

Hazard tape across a wet street, bollards down and the vehicle set up on its legs before anything is lifted.

A long unit taken in under a building canopy, ladders up and three of the crew steadying it, with only inches over the top.

The eight-wheel rigid empty on the concourse at the Etihad, crane stowed, at the end of the job.

An RNLI lifeguard station on the strops
A lifeguard station slung on four strops and swung off the deck onto the front. Light, tall and all glass on one side, so it is walked in on the line rather than swung.
The station set down on open ground
The same run of stations, one of them swung off the bed onto open ground beside a coast road, with a banksman well back on the tape line.
Middlesbrough hospital
October 2018. A long modular unit landed on a prepared base at a hospital site, with the boom out to most of its length to reach past the hoarding line.
Manchester University
October 2018. Working on a university service road with the barriers out. Campus deliveries are usually about the route in, not the lift.
A 40 x 12 office, Bolton
A forty by twelve foot office with a kitchen and a toilet in it, supplied to a Bolton scaffolding firm and set down inside their yard behind the palisade.
The first cabins at Caernarfon
December 2018. The start of the Caernarfon welfare compound, with the first units set out along the hard standing at dusk and more still to come.
Two cranes, one load
Two of ours either side of a load at a goods warehouse, taking it between them. A planned dual lift, not two drivers helping each other out.
