- FORS Bronze — Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme
- A voluntary certification scheme that assesses fleet operations against the FORS standard for lawfulness, safety, efficiency and environmental protection. It covers management, vehicles, drivers and operations, and it is assessed by an approved certification body. We are accredited at Bronze level, and the mark is displayed on the vehicles.
- ALLMI — Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers
- Founded in 1978 at the request of the Health and Safety Executive, and still the UK’s only trade association devoted exclusively to the lorry loader industry. Its purpose is promoting the safe use of lorry loaders and compliance with training requirements. Most of our lorry loader driver / operators are ALLMI trained.
- CPCS — Construction Plant Competence Scheme
- The card scheme construction sites recognise for plant operation, covering skills, knowledge, competence and qualification. Most of our HIAB driver / operators are CPCS qualified through CITB, with continuous skills training and the health and safety touch screen test.
- NEBOSH — health and safety
- We employ a health and safety officer qualified through the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health, and we have our own appointed persons for lifting operations.
- Rail Track PTS — Personal Track Safety
- Several of our driver / operators hold PTS certification for working on or near the running line.
- LINK Up
- Membership for the supply of vehicles to safety critical sites, which is what rail and infrastructure clients generally require before a vehicle comes near their asset.
- FTA — Freight Transport Association
- Membership of the trade body representing and supporting the logistics industry.
- Wide load movement orders
- Our transport team arranges nationwide movement orders for wide loads as required, and we run our own escort vehicles. That is what keeps an abnormal load movement off a fourteen day escort lead time.

The 32 tonne and 44 tonne wagons are Euro VI, so clean air zone compliance is not something to check job by job, and we invest in new lorries continually.
ALLMI
Why the lorry loader association matters
A truck-mounted crane sits in an odd regulatory gap: it is not a mobile crane and it is not ordinary haulage. ALLMI exists precisely because of that. It was set up at the request of the Health and Safety Executive, and it is the body that sets operator training standards for this specific machine.
Its stated aims are promoting the safe use of lorry loaders, being involved in legislation that affects the industry, and promoting compliance with statutory training requirements. Its membership runs from manufacturers and importers through service agents to fleet owners like us.
In practice, “ALLMI trained” is the answer to the question a site manager should be asking: is the person on the remote control actually qualified for this machine, or just for plant in general?

What FORS level are you?
Bronze. We are FORS Bronze accredited and it is displayed on our vehicles. If your pre-qualification questionnaire needs the certificate itself, email us and it comes back the same way as the insurance and the operator licence details.
What does FORS accreditation actually cover?
The FORS standard covers four areas: management, vehicles, drivers and operations, assessed against requirements for lawfulness, safety, efficiency and environmental protection. Accreditation is by an approved FORS certification body, not self-declared.
What is ALLMI?
The Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers, founded in 1978 at the request of the Health and Safety Executive. Can you work on rail sites?
Several of our driver / operators hold Rail Track PTS (Personal Track Safety), and we are LINK Up members for the supply of lorries to safety critical sites.
