Hiab hire in Birmingham

Most of our Birmingham work is site set-up: cabin compounds delivered, positioned and levelled on ground that is usually still being formed when we arrive.

The work

What we do in Birmingham

A cabin compound is a sequence, not a delivery. Units have to land in the right order, square to each other and level, on ground that has often just been laid. Get the order wrong and the last unit cannot reach its position without moving the first three.

That is why we deliver compounds in the sequence the site wants rather than the sequence they came off the yard, and why the driver / operator checks the ground under the outriggers before anything is unstrapped. On fresh sub-base that check is the whole job.

Compound work in Birmingham is usually planned as a phased delivery over consecutive days rather than as a convoy, which also means the site is never holding more units than it has room for.

Common questions

Hiab hire in Birmingham, answered

Do you actually cover Birmingham?

Yes, and the photographs on this page are from jobs we have done there rather than stock images. Site accommodation compounds delivered and set out for a national contractor in Birmingham, plus residential and city lifts. Where we can show the work, we show it.

How quickly can you get there?

It depends on the day and what is already committed, but the area is regular rather than exceptional for us. There is no minimum booking notice. Email with the date and we will tell you straight away whether it is achievable, rather than take the booking and work it out later.

What does a job like that cost?

It is priced by the job, not by the mile. Vehicle size, how far out the load has to be placed, the access and the time on site move the number far more than the distance does. Everything that changes a hiab price is set out on the cost page, and you do not need to know any of those figures to ask us for one.

Where do you run from?

Our yard is at Miles Platting in Manchester - one site, our own vehicles and our own ALLMI trained driver / operators, rather than work farmed out to a local sub-contractor we have never met. Birmingham is regular running for us, and jobs are priced by the job rather than by the mile, so the distance from the yard is not a line on your quote.
