The mobile units are half of it. The other half is the depot in Manchester, with its own fitting bays — drive in and it is dealt with while you wait.

- HGVs and trailers. Bring the unit into the yard rather than waiting for a mobile unit to reach you.
- Plant wheels. Bring the wheel in on the back of something rather than moving the machine.

Nortons Tyres provides mobile commercial, plant and car tyre replacement and repair, on site and at the roadside, seven days a week and around the clock. Our own units cover Manchester and the North West, with nationwide cover arranged through a network of partners, and the depot in Manchester takes vehicles brought in.
The tyre company exists because of the lorries. Our own fleet works across mainland UK and needs tyres dealt with when they need them, not the following morning, and the only reliable way to have that was to do it ourselves.
Having built it, we started doing the same for other companies and for individuals in the commercial sector, and it has been a business in its own right for a long time.

The van comes to the vehicle
A wagon that has picked something up on the M6 is not going anywhere under its own steam, and neither is a telehandler in the middle of a site. The mobile units carry what is needed to replace or repair the tyre where it is.
Our own units cover Manchester and the North West around the clock. Further afield we arrange cover through partners, so a vehicle a long way from home is still dealt with rather than left.

Is Nortons Tyres a separate company from the hiab business?
It is the same family of businesses and it started for the same reason — keeping our own fleet on the road around the clock. It runs its own website at nortonstyres.co.uk, which is where the tyre work is quoted and booked.
Do you fit tyres at the roadside?
Yes. Mobile units operate seven days a week, around the clock, and will replace or repair tyres on site or at the roadside, on commercial vehicles, plant and private cars.
Can I bring the vehicle to you instead?
Yes. Nortons Tyres works from a depot in Manchester with its own fitting bays, and cars, vans, HGVs, trailers and plant wheels are all dealt with there. The address and opening times are on nortonstyres.co.uk.
What areas do you cover?
Our own mobile service covers Manchester and the North West. Beyond that we arrange cover through a network of partners, so a vehicle that goes down a long way from home is still dealt with.
Do you work on plant as well as vehicles?
Yes, large and small plant on site, as well as HGVs, vans and cars. Plant tyres on a live site are a different job from a car at the kerbside and the mobile units are equipped for both.
Can we open a trade account?
Yes, credit trade accounts for commercial supplies and fitting are available subject to a credit check. Ask through the tyre site or the Manchester office.
