Jobs we can show you

Documented jobs across the years, each one with the photograph it came from. Not a gallery of stock pictures — a record of what a fleet of lorries working out of one Manchester yard actually did.

The short answer

Anybody can say they do this. These are the jobs.

Every photograph on these pages is a Nortons vehicle on a real job, dated to the year it happened, and captioned with what it was.

The work runs from one-off deliveries for private customers — a fridge that would not go through a door, a glamping pod into a back field — through to ongoing contracts for main contractors and the public sector. It is the same fleet, the same driver / operators and the same yard behind all of it.

What the portfolio is really for is answering one question before you ring: have they done anything like mine? Look for the access rather than the load. A cabin over a hedge into a garden and a plant unit over a hoarding into a site are the same problem.

Glastonbury

Ten years of hauling cabins and site accommodation down the A39 for the festival, and back up again afterwards through a field that used to be a road.

Common questions

Before you get in touch

Are these your own photographs?

All of them. Every vehicle in every picture is one of ours, on a real job, photographed by somebody who was there. There is not a single stock image anywhere on this site, which is deliberate — anybody can buy a picture of a crane lorry.

How far back does the portfolio go?

To 2017, and every year since has a page of its own. Every entry is a dated job shown with the photograph it came from.

Can I see a job like mine before I book?

That is what these pages are for. Tell us about your access and what has to be lifted, and we will point you at the closest thing we have done and tell you what it took.

Do you work outside the North West?

Regularly. Hinkley Point, Brighton, Leicester, Bicester, Norwich, Scarborough and Glastonbury are all on these pages. The yard is in Manchester; the work is not.
