Hiab hire in Derby

Derby work has mostly been site accommodation: welfare and office compounds delivered and set out for a flood alleviation scheme, on a hard-surfaced compound with everything arriving in sequence.

What we do in Derby

A scheme compound has a different rhythm from a construction site. It goes up quickly, it is used hard for months, and every unit in it has to be placed in a way that still works once the next four arrive. Delivering the units in the order the site manager wants is most of the value.

Because our crane travels on the lorry, each unit came off its trailer and went straight to its final position. Nothing was double-handled, nothing was stood in the compound waiting to be moved again, and no separate crane was on hire while the vehicles ran back and forth.

Derby sits comfortably within a day from Manchester, so East Midlands compound work runs as a phased delivery rather than a convoy.

Common questions

Hiab hire in Derby, answered

Do you actually cover Derby?

Yes, and the photographs on this page are from jobs we have done there rather than stock images. Site accommodation and welfare compound delivered and positioned for a flood alleviation scheme in Derby. Where we can show the work, we show it.

How quickly can you get there?

It depends on the day and what is already committed, but the area is regular rather than exceptional for us. There is no minimum booking notice. Email with the date and we will tell you straight away whether it is achievable, rather than take the booking and work it out later.

What does a job like that cost?

It is priced by the job, not by the mile. Vehicle size, how far out the load has to be placed, the access and the time on site move the number far more than the distance does. Everything that changes a hiab price is set out on the cost page, and you do not need to know any of those figures to ask us for one.

Where do you run from?

Our yard is at Miles Platting in Manchester - one site, our own vehicles and our own ALLMI trained driver / operators, rather than work farmed out to a local sub-contractor we have never met. Derby is regular running for us, and jobs are priced by the job rather than by the mile, so the distance from the yard is not a line on your quote.
