Hiab hire in Lancashire

Lancashire is a day trip rather than a distance job. The M61 and the M65 put Preston, Chorley, Blackburn and Burnley inside an hour of the yard, which is why hiab hire in Lancashire prices as regional work here rather than as long-distance haulage.

The work

What we do in Lancashire

The county splits into three kinds of work for us. There are the towns along the M65 corridor, where most of what we carry is construction material and site accommodation into yards that were laid out long before anything the size of a modern rigid had to get into them. There is the coastal strip, where the work is more often event and holiday-park related and the ground is softer than it looks. And there is the rural east, where the constraint is almost never weight and almost always the width of the lane and the state of the verge.

Because we run out and back in a day, a Lancashire booking does not carry an overnight in the price, and there is no subcontractor between you and the vehicle. The lorry that quotes the job is the lorry that turns up.

What we would want to know is the same as anywhere: what the thing is, where it is going, and what stands between the road and the landing point. If you are not sure whether the lorry will get in, send a photograph from where it would have to stop. That answers the question faster than any measurement.

What we bring into Lancashire

Our own lorries, our own driver / operators, our own escort vehicles and UK-wide wide load exemption notices — which is what actually gets a lift done in Lancashire on the day you need it.

Common questions

Hiab hire in Lancashire, answered

Do you actually cover Lancashire?

Yes, and the photographs on this page are from jobs we have done there rather than stock images. Accommodation cabins delivered to Hesketh Bank for seasonal pickers to live in, a cement conveyor loaded at Burscough, and a cabin craned into a football ground at Accrington. Where we can show the work, we show it.

How quickly can you get there?

It depends on the day and what is already committed, but the area is regular rather than exceptional for us. There is no minimum booking notice. Email with the date and we will tell you straight away whether it is achievable, rather than take the booking and work it out later.

What does a job like that cost?

It is priced by the job, not by the mile. Vehicle size, how far out the load has to be placed, the access and the time on site move the number far more than the distance does. Everything that changes a hiab price is set out on the cost page, and you do not need to know any of those figures to ask us for one.

Where do you run from?

Our yard is at Miles Platting in Manchester - one site, our own vehicles and our own ALLMI trained driver / operators, rather than work farmed out to a local sub-contractor we have never met. Lancashire is regular running for us, and jobs are priced by the job rather than by the mile, so the distance from the yard is not a line on your quote.
