Preston sits where the M6, the M61 and the M55 meet, which makes it one of the easiest places in the North West for us to reach and one of the busiest for the kind of work a hiab is actually for.

What we do in Preston
The mix around Preston is broad: distribution and logistics units off the motorway junctions, university and city-centre work where the whole job is finding somewhere legal to put the outriggers, and a good deal of residential and rural work out towards the Fylde where the load has to go over a boundary because there is no other way in.
That last kind is worth a sentence. Getting something into a back garden or a side yard is normal work for us rather than an unusual request - the crane picks it off the bed at the road, lifts it clear of the wall or the fence, and lowers it in. What decides whether it works is not the weight but how far out the landing point is from where the lorry can legally stand.
Preston is comfortably a day out and back, so it prices as regional work. If the job is out towards the coast the roads add time rather than difficulty, and it is still one vehicle, one driver / operator and one visit.

Our yard is at Miles Platting in Manchester - one site, our own vehicles and our own ALLMI trained driver / operators, rather than work farmed out to a local sub-contractor we have never met. Preston is regular running for us, and jobs are priced by the job rather than by the mile, so the distance from the yard is not a line on your quote.
