Hiab hire in Preston
Preston sits where the M6, the M61 and the M55 meet, which makes it one of the easiest places in the North West for us to reach and one of the busiest for the kind of work a hiab is actually for.
What we do in Preston
The mix around Preston is broad: distribution and logistics units off the motorway junctions, university and city-centre work where the whole job is finding somewhere legal to put the outriggers, and a good deal of residential and rural work out towards the Fylde where the load has to go over a boundary because there is no other way in.
That last kind is worth a sentence. Getting something into a back garden or a side yard is normal work for us rather than an unusual request - the crane picks it off the bed at the road, lifts it clear of the wall or the fence, and lowers it in. What decides whether it works is not the weight but how far out the landing point is from where the lorry can legally stand.
Preston is comfortably a day out and back, so it prices as regional work. If the job is out towards the coast the roads add time rather than difficulty, and it is still one vehicle, one driver / operator and one visit.
Our vehicles, our jobs — but not photographed in Preston
Every photograph on this site is our own, of our own vehicles, on a job we actually did. These show the kind of work described above. We have not labelled them as Preston jobs, because we cannot show you a dated record for that — and a photograph captioned with a place it was not taken is worth less than no caption at all.

Our own lorries, our own driver / operators, our own escort vehicles and UK-wide wide load exemption notices — which is what actually gets a lift done in Lancashire on the day you need it.
Hiab hire in Preston, answered
Do you actually cover Preston?
Yes. The photographs on this page are our own, of our own vehicles on real jobs, but we have not labelled them as taken in Preston because we cannot show you a dated record for that. They show the kind of work described above. Wrapped panels slung and strapped, a long unit off a distribution yard, and containers set onto a compound. Light for their size, easy to damage and slow to secure.
How quickly can you get there?
It depends on the day and what is already committed, but the area is regular rather than exceptional for us. There is no minimum booking notice. Email with the date and we will tell you straight away whether it is achievable, rather than take the booking and work it out later.
What does a job like that cost?
It is priced by the job, not by the mile. Vehicle size, how far out the load has to be placed, the access and the time on site move the number far more than the distance does. Everything that changes a hiab price is set out on the cost page, and you do not need to know any of those figures to ask us for one.
Where do you run from?
Our yard is at Miles Platting in Manchester - one site, our own vehicles and our own ALLMI trained driver / operators, rather than work farmed out to a local sub-contractor we have never met. Preston is regular running for us, and jobs are priced by the job rather than by the mile, so the distance from the yard is not a line on your quote.
