Back loads 2020
These are the 6 return loads we advertised during 2020, as they were written at the time. Each one was a lorry finishing a job away from home with an empty bed and a journey to make anyway. Nothing here has been reworded.
The names on this list are a fair sample of who actually uses return loads: other hauliers, plant and cabin firms, contractors clearing a site, and a fair number of private customers with one large awkward thing.
Who back loads are for
A back load is space on a vehicle returning to Manchester, sold to whoever can use it. That is most often another transport company who needs a crane at one end and has not got one, and it is nearly as often somebody moving a single item that no pallet network will touch.
It works when the date has some give in it and it fails when it has not. A return load goes when one of our vehicles is finishing near you and pointing the right way. If yours has to be there on a stated day, ask for a dedicated journey instead — it is a different price and it is the right answer.
What you get either way is a lorry with its own crane. No forklift at your end, none at theirs, and nothing standing on hire waiting for a delivery.
